Paul Gilbert presents his book, Lead Like a General at the Historic Blenheim Estate and Civil War Interpretive Center.
Lead Like a General combines the best of modern research on leadership with real life examples of historical figures from the American Civil War. This book shows how the research on leadership styles, organization structure, brain dominance and other related fields can be seen in the actions of these historical figures. More

Travel back to 1940 and hear the World Famous Glenn Miller Orchestra playing the greatest hits of the swing era.
Photographer Len Keilin shares professional fine art photographs he has taken during trips to Italy, Greece, Turkey, Australia, South Africa as well as around the United States. Keilin enjoys shooting subjects that involve color, light and shadow.
Keilin shares: “Everyone in my family has musical and artistic skills. While I can’t carry a tune or paint, I have been fortunate to be able to express some of my love and appreciation for the beauty in this world through the lens of a camera.”
Lindsey Macdonald is the featured artist at the Village Gallery.

Fairfax Swimming Pool will hold its third annual Doggie Splashdown after the pool closes for the season on Monday, September 5. The event will begin at 7:15pm and is open to the general community. There is a suggested $5 donation per dog which will benefit the Humane Society of Fairfax County. More

This workshop will go over the most basic repairs and maintenance that every cyclist should know. Participants will be instructed on how to repair flat tires and how to diagnose what caused them. The class will also include the process for taking off the wheel and how to properly use the quick releases on the brakes and wheels. More
The Dixie Power Trio is a four-piece group dedicated to the music and sounds of Louisiana. Formed in 1992, the band (led by tubist Andy Kochenour and cornet/accordionist Zack Smith) has spent the last decade performing for audiences in clubs, concerts, and schools. The group is based in Fredericksburg, VA and has toured extensively throughout the United States in support of their seven independently produced recordings. More
