It’s the City’s 50th or Golden Anniversary and on Tuesday, November 1, 2011 the National Recreation and Parks and Association (NRPA) awarded the City of Fairfax Parks and Recreation Department a Gold Medal at the National Congress in Atlanta, Georgia. The City of Fairfax Parks & Recreation Department makes events like the annual Independence Day Parade, Fall Festival, Chocolate Lovers Festival and others, possible. In addition to these events, they are also responsible for maintaining the City’s 31 parks and four rental facilities, as well as coordinating recreational activities for children, adults and seniors. Fairfax Spotlight on the Arts

Dedicated to showcasing the very best of the visual and performing arts in the City of Fairfax, Fairfax Spotlight on the Arts is an annual three-week festival comprising artists in and at local venues. Spotlight’s 27th season will kick off on Friday, April 20, with the 2nd Annual Mayor’s Ball at the beautiful Sherwood Center, and run until Sunday, May 6. More
